SPLP-MS-HS-M - Speech Language Pathology, MS

Admission standards for graduate studies at California Baptist University can be found in the admissions section of the University Catalog.  In addition, each candidate must meet the following requirements for this program

• A bachelor's degree in communication disorders from an accredited college or university or the evaluated equivalency. Applicants with degrees in other majors must complete a post-baccalaureate certificate program in communication disorders

• An overall minimum cumulative or last 60/90 unit GPA of 3.0

• An applicant whose first language is not English and/or does not have a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction is required to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a recent TOEFL or IELTS score

• Completion of basic science requirements in biological sciences, physical sciences, statistics and social/behavioral sciences as required by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) 2021 Standard IV-A. In addition to ASHA standards, CBU requires the following courses to be completed with a "C" or better:

• Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech/Hearing Mechanism

• Speech and/or Hearing Science

• Normal Child Language Development/Typical Language Development

• Phonetics

• Aural Rehabilitation

• Application for admission submitted and verified through CSDCAS, including:

• Official sealed transcripts from all colleges or universities attended sent to CSDCAS

• Three recommendations: Two from faculty/instructors and one from a professional source sent to CSDCAS

• Resume sent to CSDCAS

• In place of a personal statement, a comprehensive essay of at least 500 words that explains:

• Your desire for entering the program

• How the program will allow you to live your purpose

• Why your characteristics and goals are congruent with CBU's mission

• Successful interview with program admission committee. Not all candidates are selected for an interview.
